Hospice of Spokane was founded by five dedicated volunteers in 1977 and serves patients with terminal illness and their families in Spokane, Stevens, Ferry and Pend Oreille counties. Volunteers still form the backbone of our organization.
As a Hospice of Spokane volunteer, you will become part of a healthcare team consisting of the patient’s own physician, Hospice of Spokane physicians, nurses, nurse aides, social workers, chaplains, and bereavement counselors. Because there are so many ways to serve, you have a choice of how you want to share your skills. All volunteers are required to attend training and complete a background check for client safety.
